PRIVACY POLICY

RepClash is a real-time rep-battle game. This policy explains what the app collects, how your camera and microphone are used, and who your data is shared with. Effective October 2026.

Information we collect

Account: your email address and login credentials, handled by our authentication provider (Clerk). You can also sign in with Google, in which case Clerk receives your name and email from Google.

Profile: your username, the character gender and body type you choose, and the answers you give during setup (your goals, experience level, and what you want to fix). If you enter them, your height and weight — used only to shape your character and never shared.

Gameplay: your match statistics — reps, wins and losses, skill ratings, win streaks, RepClash Coins, and your character's per-muscle progress derived from the reps you do.

Rep timing: for each match we record when each rep attempt happened, how long it took, and how deep it went relative to your own calibration. This is a list of timestamps and numbers, not video, and we use it to make the rep counter more accurate.

Social: your friends list, friend requests, challenges you send or receive, and an online/presence status shown while the app is open.

Safety: if you report another player, we keep the report — who reported whom, the reason, and any note you add.

Subscription: whether you hold a RepClash Ascend (Pro) plan, tracked via our billing provider.

Notifications: if you allow them, a push token identifying this device and your time zone as a whole-hour offset from UTC — enough to reach you in the morning, not enough to locate you.

Usage: which screens you open and what you do in the app — for example finishing a setup step, starting a match, or changing a setting — with your device model, operating system and app version. It is linked to your account once you have one, and never includes your camera, your voice, your email address or your name.

Advertising: a device identifier used to measure which ad brought you to RepClash. On iOS we ask your permission first — see 'Advertising and attribution' below.

Before you sign up

You can start setting up your character before creating an account. While you do, we hold your answers under a temporary guest identity stored on your device. When you sign up, that guest data, along with the usage data recorded while you set up, becomes your account. If you never sign up, it is never linked to you.

Your camera

RepClash uses your camera only to count your reps. Pose detection runs entirely on your device.

Camera frames are never recorded, stored, or transmitted. No image or video from your camera leaves your phone, and we do not store any photos of you.

Your microphone

If you allow it, your microphone lets you talk to your opponent during a match. Voice is streamed live between the two players through LiveKit, our voice provider, and is not recorded or stored by us or by LiveKit.

You can mute yourself at any time during a match, and Settings has a switch to keep your mic off by default. The mic level test in Settings runs entirely on your device — nothing is sent anywhere.

Voice chat is between real players only. When you are matched against a computer opponent there is no voice channel.

How we use your data

To run matches, count reps, rank you on leaderboards, connect you with friends, grow your character, unlock Pro features, act on reports, send the daily reminder described under 'Notifications', and understand which parts of the app work so we can improve them.

Who we share it with

Clerk provides authentication. Convex hosts our backend and stores the data described above.

Apple processes your subscription payment through the App Store, and RevenueCat tells us whether your subscription is active.

LiveKit carries in-match voice between players in real time.

PostHog provides our product analytics. It receives the usage data described above, RevenueCat reports subscription events to it, and on our website it also receives error reports and recordings of how pages are used, with anything you type masked.

AppsFlyer measures which marketing campaign led to your install, and RevenueCat reports subscription events to it so we can tell which campaigns pay for themselves.

Expo delivers our push notifications, so your push token and the text of a notification pass through its service on the way to your device.

We do not sell your data.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, we send at most one nudge a day — a reminder to get a match in, or a heads-up about your character: a muscle about to shrink, a level within reach, or a level you just earned. Nothing else is pushed to you.

We aim for the morning in your time zone, which is why we store the whole-hour UTC offset your device reports. We stop entirely if you have not opened the app in two weeks.

Turn them off any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → RepClash, or with the Daily reminder switch in the app's Settings. Signing out releases this device's token, so a shared phone stops receiving the previous account's reminders.

Advertising and attribution

We advertise RepClash, so we need to know which ads actually work. AppsFlyer tells us which campaign an install came from.

On iOS we ask your permission before using your device's advertising identifier for this. If you decline, measurement falls back to aggregated reporting that does not identify you — nothing about how the app works changes either way.

You can change your answer at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Blocking and reporting

You can report another player after a match or from their profile. Reporting also blocks them: you will not be matched together again and they cannot send you friend requests or challenges. We review reports and may suspend accounts.

Retention and deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. This removes your login and profile, including your setup answers, height and weight, stats, character progress, and social connections, from our backend.

Match records may be kept in a form that is no longer linked to you, for leaderboard integrity and to improve the rep counter. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription — manage that through your Apple ID settings.

Children

RepClash is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes and contact

This policy may change as the app evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
